What you’ll be doing:

  • Be the Backbone: As the Laboratory Facilities Manager, you’ll ensure our laboratory and the wider building is a safe and productive environment, the heart where science thrives.
  • Drive Change: Implement solutions and policies that shape the future of our laboratories and offices.
  • Lead with Care: Manage Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) issues, fostering a culture of safety and responsibility.
  • Empower Growth: Your role is pivotal in supporting our teams, ensuring they have the tools and environment to succeed.
  • Facility Stewardship: Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and organization of our laboratory and the wider building.
  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with all groups to assess needs, plan, and execute new solutions.
  • HS&E Leadership: Advise and lead on all HS&E matters, driving policy development and ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Liaise with landlords, contractors, and manage third-party service providers.
  • Leading From The Front: Direct line management of a team of seasoned Laboratory Services professionals.

 

Essential skills and requirements:

  • Operational Expertise: Proven experience in managing life science laboratory facilities.
  • Project Management Prowess: Exceptional skills in planning and executing projects.
  • Industry Insight: Understanding of the drug development industry and HS&E in a life science setting.
  • Laboratory Exposure: Extensive experience working in a lab environment with GxP experience.
  • Qualifications: An undergraduate degree in science and H&S qualifications are highly desired.
